Dylan Presnell No. 26 AmericanMountainRentals.com, Amtrol Toyota Post-Race Report

Published on March 19, 2012

In his first career NASCAR K & N Pro Series East start at Saturday Bristol Motor Speedway, Dylan Presnell and his No. 26 AmericanMountainRentals.com, Amtrol Toyota finished 23rd in the Widow Wax 125.

Presnell piloting the Coulter Motorsports Camry, started off the weekend with a pair of practice sessions Friday night, pacing the first session with a fast lap of 16.680 seconds putting him 18th fastest. Working with crew chief Kris Bowen the team continued to make strides, finishing final practice eighth fastest at 16.356 seconds.

Starting from the 20th position, Presnell immediately began working his way through the field, noting the car became tight from the center off in the sunny areas of the track. The days second caution on lap 30 saw Presnell in 17th, giving him the chance to radio Bowen on the growing tight condition to his racecar. Bowen had the Sevierville, Tenn., native dial in one round of rear-brake to the car to combat the handling.

With his No. 26 AmericanMountainRentals.com, Amtrol Toyota more responsive, Presnell again set his sights on the front. Caution again graced the field on lap 64, taking the race into its halfway break, where his Coulter Motorsports crew serviced him with four fresh Goodyear tires, fuel, a wedge and an air pressure adjustment. Restarting in 15th on Lap 70 Presnell again set forth on passing cars at the "World's Fastest Half Mile." Unfortunately while on the move in 13th, Presnell was forced in the middle of three-wide racing and the inside car nudged the 16-year-old racer, knocking out his left rear tires valve stem and causing an immediate flat. Presnell was forced to pit road under green for repairs on Lap 104. He would regain the field on Lap 106, two laps down in 27th. Undeterred, Presnell kept his composure and raced for every available position, bringing his No. 26 AmericanMountainRentals.com, Amtrol Toyota home 23rd after a green-white-checkered finish.

Next up for Presnell and the No. 26 Coulter Motorsports team in NASCAR K & N Pro Series East competition is the Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 150 at Greenville Pickens Speedway on Saturday, March 31.

Start - 20 Finish - 23 Points - 23

"Our AmericanMountainRentals.com Toyota was fast this weekend at Bristol and it's really unfortunate we got that flat tire there towards the end. I really believe we had a top-10 racecar. We will get back to the shop and prepare for Greenville in two weeks. I want to thank AmericanMountainRentals.com, Amtrol and Coulter Motorsports for making all of this possible.
